The Community Parents Programme in Tower Hamlets:

This innovative programme is delivered by a well-established local grass roots community charity called Island House in the Isle of Dogs. The charity delivers a range of healthy living and community services to a local community that has a rich cultural diversity. The volunteer programme is managed by Rachel Redfearn, an experienced and inspiring midwife who is passionate about community development.

The evidence base, tried and tested model and wealth of experience has given us a stable platform and the opportunity to become creative once we fully established the main programme.

Having the Parents 1st team on hand to consult, share ideas and reflect with has been a wonderful facility especially in the early days of the project. As time has gone on we have developed and grown together and sparked ideas off each other.
